The Learning Lounge at Willows High School has always been an important and well utilised resource in bridging the gap between Willows High School and the wider community.  

Tired and run-down, the Learning Lounge Project sought to transform the space into a more welcoming environment that would improve the provision and create new learning opportunities for the community.

We worked with First Campus to deliver an educational programme that saw pupils and their families engaged in a series of workshops and site visits as part of a collaborative, community-led design approach.  

Participants helped us to generate layout, concept and colour scheme proposals; choose furniture, finishes and fixtures; and even assisted in the physical transformation – working alongside industry professionals to paint and decorate the space, tile the kitchenette and develop a brand identity for the new learning lounge.
